Aunque no lei ese libro...jajaja...I have a few questions...which I'm sure the author will address in futher chapters.

I have to agree that there are different mindsets between culture...and, that language and culture are almost inseparable. They interact with each other. I don't know that things are actually "written in stone" because history is in the eye of the beholder. We write it as we prefer to remember it and we have selective viewing. Even "real time"...depending on the veiw it is captured is selective (example...the news bites from the Palstinians) What we see is a "frame"...we do not see what is going on outside of that box.

Also...in re-reading your last statement about the difficulting in errasing the little (or big) thing: It is called denial.

There is something to be said for the great oral traditions. For instance the Yoruba. Every year, it takes three days to recite the entire 256 Odu Ifa, which include exactly where and when each aspect of life on earth was "born". But...I diverse. I think, what is happening here, is I am coming from the "political phylosophy" perspective...so...I'm probably missing the entire point. Y porque no? Creci en una cultura literal, pero tengo anos y anos casada con una familia Samoana (que tenia cultura oral). Y tu sabes me filosofia spiritual.

I would love to read the book, in fact, I'll see if I can find it. (as if I don't have enough to do)and then I'll be able to give more informed feed back (smile).
