What your SSN number says about you

You can reverse engineer it and find out a few things based on someone's SSN. Since my uncle and aunt became citizens simultaneously, their numbers are exactly the same except for the last digit.

A pamphlet entitled "The Social Security Number" (Pub. No. 05-10633) provides an explanation of the SSN's structure and the method of assigning and validating Social Security numbers.
