Writing for search engines
After spending years learning the craft of writing, a writer finds that google search algorithms favor those who keep it short and sweet. Humor and irony need not apply. The NYtimes has given its staff search engine optimization training. Reduction of words to bare minimum, sorta 1984.
For the humans: "Tulsa star: The life and career of much-loved 1960's singer."
For google: "Obituary: Gene Pitney."
