Setting up web space for your class

Ahmad can help get this set up.

There are several option for web space and you are welcome to use any or all that best fit you and your class needs. They include:

• A syllabus and classwork page at VarWiki (various class wikis) or google sites

  https://sites.google.com/a/itp.nyu.edu/syllabus
  other pages can be set up as well
• A blog on our multiuser blog system
  http://itp.nyu.edu/classes/classname/
  Please contact Ahmad to set you up with a space with all your students
• A google site on sites.itp.nyu.edu
  http://sites.itp.nyu.edu/
  Please contact Ahmad to set you up with a site with proper access
• A class wiki can be set up using pmwiki (http://pmwiki.org/)
  http://itp.nyu.edu/classname/
  The default set up for this is you would be the admin, anyone can read it, only itp community can edit it. This can be changed to further restrict edit and/or read to just your class. I wouldn't suggest opening edit to anyone because of spammers, but we can set up one or more guest logins.
• A redirect for your class
  http://itp.nyu.edu/classname/
  which you can set up any way you want.
• Set it up in your own itp account
  http://itp.nyu.edu/~netid/classname/
  In additiion, you can request a redirect be set up so that students can easily remember your URL.
  So that: http://itp.nyu.edu/somename/
  will automatically redirect to:
  http://itp.nyu.edu/~netid/ or http://itp.nyu.edu/~netid/classname/
