Help / Chores

ITP Chores - Spring Cleaning!

(...yes, this applies to Staging too!)

We all hate chores (except Sophie Laffont - Dame of the Japanese Room). But, chores usually help pretty things up. And, we have a lot of prettying up to do before the Show. We’ve got dumpsters on order, extra cleaning supplies and we don’t want to do this alone!

ITP’s Spring Cleaning day IS THIS Thursday, May 10th between 10 AM - 12 Noon!

''Why 10 AM and not later? Because we want to do our chores before the start of Thursday’s Thesis presentations, which begin at 12 Noon.''

What will be cleaned up?

Locker Tops - Your tool boxes can stay up there, and so can project materials that are bagged and/or boxed AND labeled SHOW and your the Project Name.

>Nooks and Crannies: there are things in corners, under tables, hidden behind columns and even lockers! - items bagged/boxed/bound that are labeled SHOW and Project Name will be spared.

Blue Bins: These MUST be cleaned out by Friday, May 18th - so while we won’t dump them on Thursday, don’t need put off for tomorrow what you could do early... since we’re cleaning up and all.
Projects NOT in the Show: TAKE THEM HOME - please. We don’t have room to store anything after Thursday that isn’t related to the Show (or a Friday These - the only exception to this).

Staging:

If you currently have Staging Space, you should have known from the FAQ that Staging ends soon! How soon? Well, Thursday May 10th - one day later than advertised in the FAQ and extended to overlap with the cleanup day.

What must you do?

EVERYONE:

  • Organize your space
  • Clean your space
  • Return tools to the Shop if you became a horder
  • Return ALL equipment to the ER - even if you are in the Show
(if you are in the Show and are worried about getting what you need - make sure you filled out the equipment section of the Project page in the Projects DB. If you want to put your name on the gear you are returning, use white gaffers tape, there is some at the ER for this. There are no guarantees here and if you didn’t request it in the SHOW venue, we’re probably going to have a problem).
  • TAKE IT HOME!: Take home anything not needed for the SHOW
  • IF you are in the Show and you have your materials and stuff labeled:
BE ON THE FLOOR AT 9:30 PM ON FRIDAY, MAY 11TH FOR THE FLOOR BREAKDOWN TO MOVE YOUR STUFF!
