ITP File Server
There is a File server available to you on the floor where you can temporarily store files. You should be able to access it from any floor computer connected to ITP's wired LAN.
Server/host: itpfileserver
Workgroup/domain: itp.nyu.edu
username: itp student
password: (the usual, do not put this in a e-mail or other plain text medium)

As needed we will be clearing out the fileserver on Monday mornings, so think of this as space available on the very short term. This is shared access so be careful not to replace someone else's files by uploading files of the same name.

To connect to the file server from Mac OS X
Click on the desktop to get the Finder menus
Under the Go menu select 'Connect to Server"
Click on "ITP.NYU.EDU" to get list of computers
Scroll down to "itpfileserver"
This will appear in the address field:
Under the Go menu select 'Connect to Server"
Click on "ITP.NYU.EDU" to get list of computers
Scroll down to "itpfileserver"
This will appear in the address field:
smb://itpfileserver.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu
Click on Connect Change user name to "itp student",
Make sure there is a space btwn itp and student
enter the itp student password
Click on OK
On SMB Mount window pop's up, click "ok" to mount "itp students"
ITP STUDENTS drive will appear on the desktop
Click on OK
On SMB Mount window pop's up, click "ok" to mount "itp students"
ITP STUDENTS drive will appear on the desktop
To connect to the file server from Windows XP
On a lab machine there should be a shortcut to the itpfileserver
If you can't find it you can:
Go to Start
Select run
Type \\itpfileserver
or Type \\itpfileserver.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu
Hit enter
Wait for the connection
A folder will open with "ITP Student"
double click on that
If requested,
If you can't find it you can:
Go to Start
Select run
Type \\itpfileserver
or Type \\itpfileserver.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu
Hit enter
Wait for the connection
A folder will open with "ITP Student"
double click on that
If requested,
in "Connect as" field type: itp student
enter password
click OK
enter password
click OK
Double-click on "itp students"
You should now be veiwing a list of files/folders on the server
