Problem: Mac OX 10.4.10 won't connect to the 'nyu' network and stay connected.
Possible solution:
I don't know if the following will work for everyone. It seems to work on some computers but not all. If you try this, please let me know the results.
Adapted from an earlier version of mac and wpa enterprise:
http://forums.macnn.com/92/networking/348114/mac-os-x-wpa-enterprise-certificate/
First, you should at some point have successfully connected to nyu by following the steps at
http://www.nyu.edu/its/wireless/configure/nyu.html#mac
particularly important is that you checked to "Always trust these certificates"
After the successful installation of the CA and client certificates
open 'Internet Connect' either from the 'Applications' folder
or from the bottom of the drop down menu on the Airport icon in the top bar
In Internet Connect
If you don't have a tab/icon for '802.1X',
under the file menu, select "New 802.1X Connection"
Go to the 802.1X tab/icon and open Configuration: Edit Configurations.
Create a new configuration
Give the connection a useful description
choose Network Port: AirPort
For Wireless Network: nyu
In Authentication, only check 'EAP-FAST' and 'PEAP'
select OK to save
Choose this configuration in the 802.1x section and connect
It should successfully connect you to the NYU WPA2 network
and it should reconnect when you get disconnected
If you find on a reconnect that you don't actually have internet connectivity,
try clicking Disconnect and then Connect in the Internet Connect App.
