Tax Filing Time – CINTAX Access and OISS On-Line Workshops

ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

TAX FILING TIME and CINTAX ACCESS

All F-1, F-2, J-1 and J-2 individuals are required to file tax forms with the U.S.government’s Internal Revenue Service [IRS], even if the person did not work in the U.S. Please take the time now to review this information at: http://www.nyu.edu/life/student-life/international-students-and-scholars/legal-matters/taxes.html

The OISS tax section includes resources, forms, and tax treaty information.

The CINTAX tax filing software is available at: http://www.nyu.edu/life/student-life/international-students-and-scholars/legal-matters/taxes/cintax-filing-your-taxes.html

CINTAX is free to NYU international students, alumni and faculty and is designed for federal tax filing. The software program does not provide assistance with filing state tax forms (such as New York or New Jersey).

Do note that the OISS is pleased to provide these resources, but OISS staff are unable to provide individual tax guidance.

OISS ON-LINE WORKSHOPS

The OISS offers three mandatory workshops for key immigration benefits: re-entry to the U.S., off-campus employment for F-1 students, and F-1 post-completion optional practical training.

At this time, certain components of the workshops are in the process of being updated.

Therefore, it is very important that you first read the workshop page before viewing any on-line workshop for important guidance.

The workshop page is http://www.nyu.edu/life/student-life/international-students-and-scholars/legal-matters/workshops.html

Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.
