Fake Campus Administration Message

Several NYU community members have reported receiving an email message
that claims to be from “Campus Administration.” The message claims that a
student was raped and that people should look at the attached file to see
a picture of a person running away from the scene.
Please DO NOT click on this attachment — this message is an attempt to
infect your computer with a virus. The attached file is not a photo, but
an .exe file that will install some type of nefarious program on your
computer. If you receive a copy of this message (see below for an
example), simply delete it from your inbox without opening it.

During the early morning of January 25 2006, a campus student was the
victim of a horrific sexual assault within college grounds. Eyewitnesses
report a tall black man in grey pants running away from the scene. Campus
CCTV has caught this man on camera and are looking for ways to identify
him. If anyone recognises the attached picture could they inform
administraion immediatly
