NYU Wireless using WPA2
All ITP Announce Messages are archived here – http://itp.nyu.edu/help/announce/
‘nyu’ is a new NYU wireless ssid now available to ITP. It uses WPA2
encryption and is available for both PCs and Macs.
If you switch to it you will no longer need to use the vpn and once you’ve
gone through the initial validation process, as long as it is in your
prefered networks and your netid password hasn’t changed, you should be
connected automatically when in range.
I have printed instructions for PCs Windows 2000/XP and for Macs. They
are on a pedestal outside my office.
The new ‘nyu’ network has been deployed campus wide, but is still in a
testing phase, so ITS Client Services is *not* providing technical support
for this new service yet. Only when documentation appears on the NYURoam
web pages with regard to ‘nyu’ will the Client Services folks be in a
position to assist.
If you have any problems come to me and I’ll try to help resolve them or
try to find someone who can.
