Rob Fergus

In my talk I’ll give an overview of my research in Computer Vision
and Computational Photography. I’ll then describe some of the things
I’m interested in work on now that I’m at NYU. I’ll focus of some
areas which are might provide scope for collaboration with the ITP
program.
Bio:
Rob Fergus joins the Courant Institute as an Assistant Professor of
Computer Science. He earned an M.Eng degree from the University of
Cambridge, U.K. (2000), an M.Sc from Caltech (2002) and a D.Phil from
the University of Oxford, U.K. (2005). Before coming to NYU, he was a
postdoc at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT.
Dr. Fergus’s research is in the field of Computer Vision, with links
to Computer Graphics and Machine Learning. Specific areas of interest
include object recognition, computational photography and problems in
low-level vision.
