Memo to: ITP Students
From: George and Rob
Re: Projects, Packages, Storage, Work in Progress, etc.
This is a busy time of the year — as we draw closer to the end of
the term and start of the show things will only become more hectic —
so as you begin making your end of semester plans, think carefully
about the following points:
- Normal Packages: we are pleased, as a courtesy to students, to
continue to accept small packages at the front desk. This only works
if the packages are manageable and are picked up promptly — we can’t
store things for days on end.
- Oversized Shipments: if you are shipping anything BIG to ITP you
MUST get permission IN ADVANCE from Rob. We need to know what is
coming, by what means, what it is for, and how you intend to store
and deal with it once it arrives. You must coordinate delivery so
you are on-site when the object arrives — don’t expect ITP staff to
deal with it. If you don’t get Rob’s permission in advance we won’t
sign for it — it will be rejected.
- Short-term Storage: we realize that lots of work in progress is
starting to go up around the floor — you need to alert Rob if you
are doing this to get his permission and you must leave a sign on the
materials/setup/installation — it should say “Work in Progress by
XXX (NAME) for XXXX Class, and should include contact numbers/email
and a date by which it will be gone.
- Installations: nothing can go up on the floor without Rob’s
clearance — so please don’t leave big (or small) set ups behind
without any warning, and without any signage. If we can’t figure out
what it is, and who it belongs it, you run the risk of it being taken
down and discarded.
