This lab is your lab. This lab is my lab.

Please read through the following guidelines for using the lab.

• No food or drinks in the lab.
• The lab's hours are the same as ITP's other labs. 9am - midnight, Tuesday - Friday. Noon - midnight, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
• The local hard drives in the lab ARE ERASED EVERY MONDAY MORNING', so be sure to back up your work! Create a folder with your name on it on the Network Drive (the blue icon,) and move/copy your work to it every week. Your folder on the Network Drive is available for the entire semester. If you are unable to copy files to your folder (there is a permissions bug we haven't been able to fix yet,) you can create another folder within your folder and save files to that, or you can create another folder with a sequential number as its name, e.g. "Your Name #1," "Your Name #2." The Network Drive is only accessible from the eight video computers; access outside of the lab is not possible. In addition, the Network Drive will be erased at the end of every semester. All the video computers have built-in DVD/CD burners, so you can burn your files onto a disk. For large video projects, we recommend purchasing an external Firewire hard drive to back up and transport your work.
• Please save video projects and other large files to the Network Drive, not the desktop.
• Quit your applications when you're done — Apple-Q on the keyboard — don't just close the windows.
• Software manuals are available in the equipment room.
• If you're having problems and can't find the answer on this site, ''ask our video resident, Amy Khoshbin or our audio resident, Ithai Benjamin. Amy's in the resident's office (room 441) & Ithai's in Marina Zurkow's office. If you can't find Amy or Ithai, send a message to itp.helpdesk@nyu.edu. Please tell us which computer you're using, and describe your problem as specifically as possible.
