Heart Pillow is a cyborg-like transhuman structure that is primarily composed of 2 parts: a polar heart strap that works as a sensing device to read heartbeats and a pillow equipped with a polar signal receiver and a vibration motor that reproduces heartbeats remotely, in real time and wirelessly.

Heart Pillow is a user experience and affective design research piece as well as an attempt to a post-optimal object in material culture. It is intended to be used in any situations in which transferring a heartbeat into an everyday object can have an emotionally soothing effect or generate questions on the self.
My interest in the heart beat is basically a simple interest in life and the warmness that it brings together. I'm also interested in the posthuman condition and related experimentations as well as in questions like how further technologies can take us regarding senses expansion and our own presence and reproducibility, especially in everyday objects. Which are the new functions and roles will we design for those new possibilities?
