Gary Schober

Courses Taught: Advanced Microcontroller Workshop

For the last twenty six years, Gary Schober has been president of Berkeley Varitronics, a consulting and design engineering firm, and has been an ITP adjunct faculty member from its inception. He holds several patents in CATV, Pay-TV, teleconferencing, audience measurement systems, and cellular telephone technologies. His consultations have included over 150 major firms in all technical and management disciplines. Mr. Schober was responsible for the design of the technical system of the Reading interactive two-way experiment, funded by the National Science Foundation. He also created the first secure transmission system via cable for professional audiences, and directed the technical implementation of the CPB funded Teletext field trial at WETA, Washington D.C. Since 1978, he has taught four different post-graduate courses at ITP and New York Law School's LLM Program and has lectured at a number of major colleges and universities.
