Matt is a 2007 ITP alum, with stretches of government service sandwiching his time as a student here. He was recently the CIO of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (link:cfpb.github.io). Prior to that, he advised various US government agencies--primarily those in the Intelligence Community--on how to use the web more effectively. Throughout this time, he has written about the impact of technology on government and democracy. A collection of his writing is on his personal web site, matthewburton.org.
