Joshua Clayton is a New York-based artist whose work occupies a hybrid space of media art and language. Born and raised in the Great Lakes State, Joshua earned a BFA in Graphic Design at Western Michigan University before setting out for the islands of Japan. He spent three years there as a teacher, student, and nomadic observer of Asian cultures. Joshua moved to New York in 2005. His recent projects explore semiotics, mysticism, architecture and the urban landscape, and research-based forms of practice.
