Eric Fixler

Alumni, Class of 2003

Eric is a programmer specializing in information retrieval and audio applications, and a community radio producer in Berkeley, CA. Currently Senior Software Architect at UC Berkeley's Engineering Systems Research Center, Eric recently collaborated with the Exploratorium on their Educator Resources Collection and the Science of Music online exhibit, which was recognized for excellence by the American Association of Museums and South by Southwest. He produces the Amandla! program on KALX-FM in Berkeley, as well as the "Oy Mendele!" radio show and audioblog. Eric has developed software (and some hardware) for Interval Research, IDEO Product Development, Corpwatch, Om Records, Agile TV and others, and is a contributor to several open source projects.

Prior to graduating ITP, Eric was a film and video editor, videographer, and sound recordist, and taught videomaking to New York City High School Students.
