BusinessGenrePresentationTimely business and financial news is one of the key underprinnings of our society and the global economy at large. Traditionally, the methods of acquiring this information were either through news paper or news wire, for short-term news interests, or through magazine and periodical article, for mid-term intrests and strategic information, and finally government and private filings for long term interests and strategic information. The rise of the internet as a distribution method and internet television and podcast/videocasting has only marginally affected this genre. The bulk of financial news is outdated the second it hits, so anything less than live is useless. Business news, and market trends on the other hand do really well in a vidcast format. There has not been one key player which has dominated this field, mainly because the current market leaders all view business and financial news podcast as a way to add value to existing offerings, instead of replacing traditional news methods. Some corporations, such as Bloomberg, News Corp, etc have spoken about creating various sub channels in an internet TV format to cover special topics, but nothing has come of this yet. But individual sub sectors are already embracing this format. These companies are still trying to win brand loyalty in a ever increasingly competitive field and so are working on more offerings, specifcally through things like facebook and other social networks.
