DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting )

This is a digital radio transmission system for sending multimedia to mobile devices. Actually, this technology was developed as a research project for the European Union. But later, DMB was developed in Korea under the national IT project and has become the world's first official DMB broadcast launched in Korea in 2005.

Satellite DMB transmission is capable of covering an entire country. One of the biggest DMB provders in Korea is TU Media (http://www.tu4u.com), a component of SK Telecom. They provide over 38 video and 20 audio channels to subscribers on the go.

Subscription for the service: In order to become a member, users have to pay approximately 25.00$ for membership and after that, 15.00$ per month. There is no airtime fee while watching the programs.
