MotionBoxWHAT IS MOTIONBOX Motionbox is all about viewing and sharing personal video. The USP of this site as i figured is the Deep video tagging feature, that allows users to tag favorite parts of a video so that they and others can jump directly to those parts and link to individual video sections. You can also embed a video (deep tags included) into your own blog or Web site now. Today, as everything from our cell phones to our digital cameras becomes video enabled, we have the amazing ability to capture moving images on the fly. With this ability comes a need for innovative ways to share our lives through video. Personal video is about more than just home movies; it's about capturing a moment and sharing it. Now that everyone's shooting video, how do you get to the good stuff -- the moments that really interest you -- without having to watch all the rest? Motion Box makes it possible - Not every one has to be a pro, or learn complicated editing software to make this happen. The goal is to develop smart, simple ways for you to make the most of what you've shot. Time is precious and not every human being with an Internet needs to learn FCP, After Effects etc...Motion Box makes it easy for you to get to the good stuff. Fast. STEPS
Now how do I send it to people?
You can share videos by clicking on the share button located on the video player page or on any list of videos. You can email a link to your video to as many people as you like! Can I share other people's videos?
You can share any video you see on Motionbox. How do I share just a portion of my video?
On the film strip http://www.motionbox.com— the scrolling thumbnails — along the bottom of the video player. Use mouse to click and drag within the film strip, you can select any portion of the video. Find the segment you wish to select, and highlight the good stuff. A menu will pop up asking what you'd like to do with your selection. If you want to adjust the start and end points of your selection, simply grab the selection handles and move them around until you are satisfied. Click on the "Share this selection" link, and enter the email addresses of the people you'd like to invite. Add a personal message and voilà! Consider it done! How do I add videos from my computer to Motionbox?
It's easy. From the Motionbox upload page, simply click on the browse button. Now it's as easy as attaching a file to an email. Add a title, description, and tags to your video, and then click the upload button. Can I send videos from my phone to Motionbox?
Yes. Each Motionbox member has a unique "videophone" email address that you can personalize. You can find yours on your settings page. Use your videophone email address to send videos directly from your cell phone to your Motionbox account. I tried to post a video to Motionbox from my cell phone and it didn't work! What happened?
Some wireless providers automatically send photos and videos to their own web sites. Try sending the video to your own email address. If you have to follow a link to your provider's web site to view the video, you've identified the problem. Call your service provider to ask if there is another option for sending the multimedia files directly to an email address. If you think you're having a different problem, please let us know, and we will do our best to resolve the issue. Can I upload other kinds of files, like music and still images?
Right now, Motionbox is all video all the time, but soon.... Is there a limit to the size of the videos I can upload?
There's an upload limit of 100MB per file. It's taking a long time to encode my video. What's up with that?
Optimizing video to play quickly at the highest quality on the Web might take a few minutes. All of this is a one-time process for each video. What kinds of video files can I upload?
Currently, Motionbox accepts videos in the following formats: .avi, .mov, .dv, .mpg, .mp4, .wmv, .asf, and .qt. Motionbox also accepts a variety of cell phone video (.3GP), However due to the wide range of cell phones on the market, they cannot guarantee support for all models. You can call them if you have trouble. LONG TERM PLANS Motionbox, envisions a world in which shooting and sharing video is as common as sending an email or picking up the phone. In the coming months, they'll be releasing new features and enhancements, all with this vision in mind. Like the Internet and life itself, Motionbox is a work in progress. They are launching this preview release of Motionbox with Partner, NBC10. Together with NBC and other Partners, Motionbox will bring together distributors of traditional media and a new generation of personal video creators.
