TamarasPitchPitch Concept: ReviewTV In an urban area like New York City, the dining options are endless. Google Maps has revolutionized not only the way we search for directions, but also how we search for restaurants. Above the search field, the interface suggests the query string “hotels near lax” as a possible input. Similarly, users can type “restaurants near east village.” In addition to supplying the addresses of these establishments, Google Map gives the user passages from written reviews of the restaurant. This extremely helpful feature enables the user to make a more educated choice about which restaurant best fits his desires. However, at ReviewTV, we believe adding a video component to this type of feature will provide the user with even more information about local restaurants, bars and nightclubs to make informed decisions on where to eat. ReviewTV is a television show made for mobile devices. It is designed for the mobile user on the go who is trying to make a decision about where to eat or socialize. Each episode is approximately three to five minutes long and provides a review of a specific New York City dining locale. It not only benefits users searching for a place to go. A user might be wandering the streets and stumble upon a restaurant or nightclub, but reluctant to eat there or pay a cover charge without knowing whether the place is worthwhile—or anything about the ambiance at all. ReviewTV gives a synopsis of the ambiance of places, in addition to reviews from the hosts. ReviewTV is also helpful for the tourist who does not have access to a computer or local opinions. The typical show is about 3 minutes in length and hosted by a female and male host. The show will show (and describe) the restaurant or bar's ambiance, quality of food/service, etc. |
