Gumspots.com™ is a framework for creating a unified system to access data from any location.
A visual & interactive platform for conneting one\'s virtuReal world with the Real world.

Currently many Mobile Social Software applications are being developed at ITP. With each service a separate user base is being collected consistist of all the same information. The services are also generally built for lowest common denominator devices.

Gumspots.com™ would like to create a single platform for the mobile community to find, interact, share and give feedback to our social applications and games.

Gumspots.com™ is a new service providing a single access point to Public and Private Ta-Data™. A user can access Gumspots.com™ from their computer or cellphone. Members have direct visual & interacive access to a growing number of services designed for mobile people.

The Gumspots Grid is a Map system designed to be accessed from both mobile phones and full size computers. The Gumspots Grid provides a unified platform for Mobile Social Software and other location based services to build on and a consistant system for our audience to interact with.

Personal Statement:Ta-Da Inc.™ www.ta-da.com
Background:I\'ve been thinking about these concepts for a while and I am excited to make it become real!
Audience:Gumspots™ is accessable to anyone with Web access or a cellphone. For the actual presentation in the show I would like to have one desktop station located next to my group project, Networked Flowers. It would have the Web interface to Gumspots.com displayed for users to interact with. This machine will also run some of the Networked Flower output device middleware.

I will also be showing the Gumspots™ Mobile Player via my Cellphone, the Nokia 6630. I will be showing off the features of the Gumspots™, some of which are visual front ends for other classmates services.

I will hopefully be able to borrow a second 6630 and install the Flash player on it. This will enable me to have people interacting back and forth. It would be nice to have each service that has a front end to have a 6630 to show it off. (i\'ll talk to Dennis).

User Scenario:A user would download the Gumspots.com Player to their phone and register with Gumspots.com. The user can then search available features which include a personal messaging service, Giant Public Puzzles and other Real Live Big Games, a Lost & Found, Funpages and Viral Content, Networked Physical Objects. The Gumspots.com™ system als

The user can also use the Gumspots Grid to see the live location based data or to find a location for input to another feature such as a sidewalk milage counter or an image submission.
Technical System Description:I built the Mobile Gumspots Player for the Flash Lite 1.1 player & the Full scale version of the Gumspots Player for the Flash 6+ Player. The backend is built with Pearl, PHP & SQL.

The Gumspots Player works as a translater between a services\' unique personal codes and an intuative interface for the user. Gumspots.com™ removes the limitations of interaction with the user.
Project References, Research and Literature:I stare at the ground a lot when I walk.
Conclusions:Gumspots.com™ is a framework for creating a unified system to access data from any location. The usefullness of the Gumspots.com™ system increases with the number of services it offers. I look forward to working with others to create interactive front ends to their projects.
