Three wearable pieces that explore storytelling: a shell necklace, a Movie Bag and a Skirt.

The audience is able to discover my birth city and my relatives, Taishan, through looking at the movie bag, examining the shell necklace, and by lifting the hidden pieces on the skirt.

Personal Statement:A girl who has always been fascinated by storytelling.
A girl who always pushes the limits.
A girl who looks back while dreaming about the future.
Background:An autobiography on my birth city, Taishan, and on my memories and relatives who are still living there.

I wanted to make a tribute to a place that gave me alot of energy, joy, and hope as a child. I also want to make video portraits for my relatives who are still living there.

I love storytelling and I love wearable technology. So I wanted to combine the two to see if I can find new and interesting ways to tell stories.
Audience:Age 10 to 100.
User Scenario:Look and play. Think, ask questions, listen, and smile.
The viewers can get an impression of my city through the movie bag. They learn about the stories of my relatives through lifting some fabric on the skirt, and they also experience my childhood memory of shells through the glowing shell necklace.
Technical System Description:All the pieces are wearables that are either powered by 3v battery, or self charged battery. They are portable and meant to be worn.
Project References, Research and Literature:Maya Deren, Elise Co and Margarete Orth.
Chinese propaganda posters, Shanghai Girl posters, and Vivienne Tam.
Conclusions:One must look back before one can dream about the future.

The study of relationships have always captivated me.

Imagination is the passport to utopia.

Shell necklace, $50.99, Skirt, $75.99, Movie Bag, $450.99, doing a thesis that has little market value and no corporate relevance but satisfies your creative need, PRICELESS!
