| \"I don\'t like New York, but I love New York\" is a Video Art that expresses the bipolarity of New York by showing contrast; light and shadow, excitement and quietness, brightness and darkness, with dance and landscape in New York. | New York is bipolar city, I hate it at the same time I love it.
This is a video art that I will give to New York City. The audience
can see and read the concept from the video and enjoy it.
I will use the music and lyrics\"You Really Got a Hold on Me\"(Writer: Wiliam Robinson; lead vocals: John Lennon, George Harrison) and Masayo Izumi a professional dancer.

| Personal Statement: | \"Why am I in New York?\" I often have been repeating this
question to myself since I came here to New York about ten months ago.
Now I strongly feel that I have nothing. I have no job, no
confidence, no support, no words. I felt I was weak and miserable,
and cried many times. I really hate New York.
However, there are diverse people and their dream. Because I have dream, I am here. I would like to believe that New York City is a potential city for people who have a dream and who make the effort. I love New York.
This video art is a gift to New York. \"You\" in the lyrics is not
you, but \"New York\" itself. I don\'t like New York, but I love New
York. New York treats me badly, I love New York madly. New York has really got a hold on me
| | Background: | I was very interested in describing the bipolarity of New York City by using a contrast; Light and Shadow, Brightness and Darkness, Excited and Quiet. I decided to shoot my friend, who was a professional modern dancer, since I believe that dance can emotionally express people\'s internal feeling. I also tried to make and shoot beautiful shadow with strong light so that I could express the bipolarity of New York. | | Audience: | Anyone who is interested in the Video Art | | User Scenario: | People come to a screen and see the video | | Technical System Description: | 4 min 6 sec.
I mainly shot two kinds of videos, one is a professional modern
dancer, other one is landscape in New York. When I shot the dancer, I used two video cameras and two strong lights at the same time. I shot a lot of landscape, but I chose Times Square. I swung the video camera and rotated when I shot it. I combined two videos and edited with Final Cut Pro and After Effect.
