| \"Wind Flowers\" is flower-shaped swinging lights located on the locker space in order to create a peaceful and quiet moment at the entrance space of ITP, and the audience can enjoy both seeing the project and its movement. |
| The idea for this project was initiated from the concept of creating a peaceful and quiet moment. We will create about thirty flower-shaped lights and they will be located on the lockers and pathway space from the entrance. We will use flexible plastic stick as a stem, mesh metal and fiber grass as a petal, small light balls as a center part. The color and shape of the flowers are simple and aesthetic, and they swing when people’s movement makes wind. The flowers also can form beautiful shadows and light reflection. People can enjoy not only seeing the project but also its movement, which is analog interaction (tall people may touch them). The flowers will warmly welcome people who come to ITP. |

| Personal Statement: | As a group (Aya Ota and Sawako Kato, Dimitri Darras), we are inspired from nature and its peaceful environment. While we are in ITP, we are usually disconnected with nature. People busily walk around and rarely pause to have a quiet moment. We would like to make a relaxing and peaceful moment by using a space which is frequently faced but usually overlooked. |
| Background: | We were interested in using the locker and pathway space from the entrance of 4th floor. The reasons why we chose this space are as follows; It is huge and long, people frequently walk through this space, this space is usually unused and over looked. Therefore, by using this space, we believe we can make fresh surprise to the audience.
We were also interested in creating and repeating the same shape, making beautiful shadow and light reflection. |
| Audience: | Anyone who comes to ITP. They are forced to walk thorough this space.
Especially, anyone who feels stressed out, who wants a quiet and peaceful moment to be relaxed. |
| User Scenario: | This project is designed so that the users can experience a peaceful and quiet moment.
People who come to ITP are forced to walk through this space, and can see these aesthetic flowers. The flowers can swing when people’s movement makes wind. |
