Description
A Connect Four grid, rendered in Flash, will be displayed on a plasma screen in a high-traffic public place. Passers-by who wish to make the next move can simply send one in by SMS. The back-end keeps track of who has joined which side (Red or Black) and will make sure a given player can only make moves for one side. Scripting on the Flash Com Server will maintain the game state for multiple instances that could be run simultaneously all over the world. When one game finishes, a new game starts. There is no limit on players per team. In this way, this game scales massively in terms of both participants and time.
User Scenario
A user approaches the plasma screen. As per the instructions, they send a text message to the address on the screen. In a few moments (< 1 min.) a chip drops into the slot they chose. If this completes a "connect four", then the four chips blink and then all the chips fall down through the slots off screen. The game then starts over.
Typically, I anticipate a user will make one move and then walk away.

Conclusion
The game is currently live and working. Frank Lantz has already seen it and within the week Dennis Crowley and Veronique will get to see it.
As far as equipment, all i need is a plasma screen and a computer with a browser that has flash 8 player installed.
