decoAR is an application that simulates the furniture layout for your room. It provides another way besides using the tape- measure and users imagination. Before you place the order, user can manipulate the avatar’s position and see the rendering result directly through out the monitor. The goal is to help people figuring out which furniture fits their needs.

When I move to a new place, I have to figure out how to reorganize all the stuff like study table, mattress, bookcases, couch and so on. If you have a strong imagination, then you probably can set everything down in a short time. Otherwise, the whole progress will takes around one or two days.

I have worked with film production house for couple times. For them, most of the scriptwriters or directors may not that familiar with the technology. Before produce a movie (or that’s say short film like advertisement on TV), someone has to describe the story to the client. If they like to work with laptop, they might use professional software like “Final Draft” to write a script or use “Storyboard Artist” to generate the storyboards instead of drawing them by hand. They are great tools. Although they can generate variety of scene to help people to understand what’s in director or editor’s mind, I think, there is another way to use technology to describe the scene more clearly.

Both the 3D model and Marker can be store in an online database.
User can download the 3D model and printable marker.
The Marker could print on the magazine. After user cut them down, they can play it with a web cam and a computer.
User can create their virtual room online. If online store has new product, the server will send an announcement to the member after they log in. All the members can see the result with xxx. If they like the new product, they can place the order online.

The project could be use on urban design and pre production.
