The Origami Tree served as part of a response to a class assignment where
students were to disseminate an idea throughout the school, and possibly
beyond.
As a group, we chose to share the benefits of practicing origami during the

tense weeks leading up to finals. Origami relieves stress, provides a

temporary oasis from technology, and, perhaps most importantly, encourages

interaction between people. We erected this tree to serve as a bridge

between Eastern culture and the Western holiday, and by accompanying it with

origami workshops where students were invited to learn, we were able to

disseminate the idea of folding paper throughout the school, as well as

generate help in decorating this tree.
