Show goers would be able to watch/listen to a video demonstration on a screen of the project in the field as well as use the device and an Android phone to see how data is updated live to a web database.

This sensor platform uses an Arduino microcontroller linked via bluetooth with any Android phone to allow users to record and post realtime data to the web. It is designed to be a low cost and open alternative to the proprietary medical and environmental tracking devices on the market. The platform is also deigned to be modular, allowing developers to easily incorporate any sensor into the system that runs on the standard 3.3v-5v. Preliminary sensors will include pulling data from the external environment(brightness, temperature, humidity, and air quality) as well as biofeedback(heart rate, breathing).

The data collected by these sensors is immediately streamed to the internet via an application that works on any device running the Android OS. The Android device also attaches both a timestamp and GPS coordinate to each piece of data. By default, environmental data is stored public and personal health data is stored public in the online database. These setting can be modified by the user and data can be shared through various social networks as well.

The goal of the project is to get these mobile systems on as many bikers and pedestrians as possible in order to begin to create a map of our environmental conditions and how our own personal health reacts to it. It is also to give people with health conditions low cost alternatives to monitoring themselves and making this data available to healthcare providers.
