‘Meditating Morus’ is an animated installation, presenting a unique species, seen for the first time, of a deep-sea creature with special spiritual traits, and a surprising connection to human beings who may be observing it.
Inspired by previous project and a short story by Julio Cortazar. This project is exploring the possibility to present life-like behavior of imaginary creatures, as they respond and interact with observers and among themselves. And also brings up questions about how do we perceive life and how can an animated, responsive character, convince us that it\’s alive.
The creatures displayed on this installation can sense that they are observed, and may respond in different ways to the presence of humans around them. In the absence of observers, they may act differently, though it can be difficult for us to see.
