you light up everywhere you go

I construct lines(on a plexi glass surface) and color combination on a flat surface, in order to express general beauty with the utmost awareness. Nature inspires me, and puts me, as with any digital media, in an emotional state so that I am urged to make something, but I want to come as close as possible to the truth and abstract everything from that, until I reach the foundation (which is still just an external foundation!) of things

I will present this Mirror LED frame by hanging it from the ceiling. The image of the LED mirror inside of the frame will be created by audience’s participation, which will change colors in a real time. I will prepare copies of paintings and pictures that people can see and they will be able to see them reflect through the Mirror LED. The LED Mirror reinterprets paintings and photos. The structure and the mirrors represent the colors of people passing through the space it occupies.
In addition, it averages the color and put the color into grid structures. It can be abstract to simple recognizable color for detecting people’s movements, and the colors change in a real time. Until someone approaches the LEDs GET bright color or reflect anything the LED’s shine directly outwards, emitting a bright, direct light into the room. As a dark figure approaches, the angle of the servomotors with the LED's attached will rotate slightly upwards, casting out a more diffuse, indirect light through the plexi-glass surface. The brighter the LEDs are, the brighter the light emitted from the LEDs, due to the increase in angle of the servomotor. On the other hand, the color will dim slowly, diminishing the brightness of colors. The sound of the servos will play an integral part of the project – more motion leads to more sound. I want to create a compelling interaction of light and sound, where the light shies away from approaching dark colors, while also forming average COMPOSITE of colors of the passing bodies.

Background
I am motivated from a Mondrian's principle to use modules (grids) to represent light and color of environment. Here, I use grids, etched on surfaces of plex-glasses and structures of light boxes to depict brightness and colors of environments, either. For processing code, average colors from video, store, and loop pixel values to communicate with Arduino for operating motors and lighting leds. The project is working in a real time through running processing, need to understand serial communication between two different applications( Processing and Arduino ). Also, I exam to avoid conflicts from simultaneous operating systems. For the design part, caring motors and LEDs at the same time in a light box, each margin of box is essential. I give more space than assumed size because the box might be different after gluing each side piece together. As cutting plex glass material, the best choice is to do leisure cut. In addition, etching lines should be no more than 0.01 stroke weight for my project.
From the above strategy of building Mirror LED, I can't deny to emphasis on planing more time and detail instructions for each steps to develop a project.

Audience
Every one can be a target. The only thing is about they can really manipulate color from post cards, which I am going to copy and set up on a table, and people also reinterpret them through digitized colors.
MIRROR LED lights up in response to the average color values and brightness.

User Scenario
People look at the picture frame, which will decorate by 32 LEDs. They actually see the light changing first, and realized they can interact with changing colors through a video. People look down to the table where I will display copies of painting and picture. They will choose some photos and reflect them to the video to change the color. Seeing painting and photo as copies, but people present them to the mirror leds, which has a frame. Recreate painting through the mirror leds that is about routine arts, in this digital age, people normally do with computer. Some sorts of unexpected light effects and sounds from motors add more real time effect as well.

Implementation
Material: Plex mirror effect glasses
Servo motors 32
ShiftBrite LEDs 32 and use 4 Servomotors controllers.
Ratio of each side of a light box: 3.2inch* 2.2inch (128pieces) 2.2inch*2.2inch(64pieces)
Thickness =2.2inch // cut by laser cutting
Picture Frame for Mirror LED (24inch*30inch)
copies of photos and paintings- business card front images//lingering imagery & Post card-direction to play with photo stock with MIRROR LED

Picture Frame- steel size- 24inch x 30 inch

Conclusion
Simple principle and concept does more demand detail touches of interactive effects, such as reflection from Leds and motors should be taken care of controlling detail data differences. Color vale, R, G, B ( as we see through computer screen ) are difficult to represent with media device as a real color value. I decide to add some support material, such as plex glass to reflect color and diffuse through grid-surfaces to be close to the real value. Concerning of supportable power amount, I definitely concern it at the beginning to operate well. When the 32 led's reflect the color values and brightness of the outside world, they light in an unexpected way, that gives them a spontaneous and organic nature. On the other hands, some unexpected continued looping effects occur from changing just a little bit of code
