I am making computers battle and cooperate musically. Each competition is governed by three rules: key, tempo and a bank of samples, but ultimately the best use of these elements will be determined by the audience. Through the use of machine learning, pattern matching and composition algorithms, each computer will perform with their own unique sound and style. The American invention of Hip-Hop and my family\’s former radio business help elucidate my reason for choosing my thesis.
