Co-Crabitation is an interactive video journal and data visualization that chronicles my relationship with hermit crabs and the effect of adding air-cleansing moss and plants to our environments. My encounter with the purifying air emanating from a plant-filled living wall fueled my desire to measure air quality. I set out to research and confirm what I intuitively knew to be true, that the addition of plant life to an environment has a major effect on health and well-being. I created a crabitat with air quality sensors and webcam monitoring and captured transformative moments with my personal cameras.
