SymbiosisO is a collection of textile interfaces based on hybrid material compositions and presents novel human-computer interaction. The soft materials behave as an organic display, they react to human impulses and response with a change in color.

Our latest representative, SymbiosisO: Voxel is a large scale display system constructed of 100 hexagon shaped pixels (“voxels”) made of soft materials embedded with electronics. The arrangement of voxels follows a honeycomb structure and the voxels have two visual states: solid dark color (“off”) and a highlighted wire-frame of a cube (“on”). The pixels can be activated by touch for an immediate feedback, or through a web based interface to create running animations.
