Description

Every year around the world, 15 million girls are married before the age of 18 — that's 28 girls every minute, married off too soon, endangering their personal development and wellbeing. This practice persists across countries, fueled by poverty, social and cultural norms. Religious beliefs based on gender inequality means that becoming a wife and mother is often deemed a daughter’s only choice. With more young people on our planet than ever before, child marriage is a human rights violation that we must end to achieve a fairer future for all. My inspiration starts here: how can I rethink the traditional concept of storytelling and raise the awareness to help eradicate the practice? How can I articulate an effective response that this effort entails?
