Data-specific BBQ rubs based on ethnic data of neighborhoods from the latest US Census report
American Rubs is a project in two parts: 1) in Processing, neighborhood ethnicity data is transformed into dry rub recipes based on geo-location on a map of the US 2) actual dry rub mixes will be available for viewing and tasting.
I will be associating a spice per ethnic/racial group, and converting neighborhood data into recipes that reflect the statistics.
This project was inspired by the popular Kogi food truck in Los Angeles that created Mexican/Korean hybrid food. I wanted to represent the tastes of neighborhoods and the diversity that lives within them.
I\'d like to ask users what thier favorite neighborhood is before tasting after tasting.
