SQUEEZER

Using different techniques utilized in occupational hand therapy, the patient applies pressure to a rubber ball which triggers varying visual and audio outputs to a computer monitor and speakers. The program provides visual feedback as well as numerical data that will track a patient\’s progress.

Gnelly

Gnelly is an object made up of a cobox, RFID, and various sensors and lights. Gnelly\’s focus is on providing emotional comfort and communication between two to four people. Gnelly is given to a person who requires extra attention, say a hospital patient or someone who is home-ridden or otherwise isolated from people. Gnelly can be communicated to by a text message, at which point it will light up and prompt the owner to respond. Gnelly will respond to the text message if it is shook, squeezed hard, thrown, or touched in a certain spot. Only people with permission who are close with the owner are able to communicate with Gnelly, and therefore communicate with the owner.
