Plott
Plott is a platform for experiencing location based stories. For Plott, this is a narrative tied to an outdoor place, such as a building, park or street intersection. Many of these places have a history to them that are unknown to passers by. Conversely, many times we read stories without experiencing the physical environment that they were set in. Plott seeks to bridge this gap through two channels. Primarily it provides on-site, on-demand stories to the user’s mobile phone while they are at the story location. These stories are delivered in the form of audio and images, allowing the user to be immersed and explore the physical environment while being told the narrative. Alternatively it provides a browser-based experience of the physical environment using Google Street View technology. Google provides a database of compelling panoramic street level imagery, which can be virtually explored by using mouse and keyboard actions. This gives the user freedom to navigate through the virtual street environment while still experiencing the audio. Not only is Plott a platform for experiencing content, it is also a platform for generating content. Plott provides online tools to record audio and images, as well as geo-tag them with locations. This enables authors to record their own location-based stories and then share them through the same physical and virtual channels of distribution.
Vibe Here
VibeHere is designed to simplify the research process of making a spontaneous decision regarding where to go for the best music vibe? Music tastes differ from person to person and not every venue has the same type of music every day of the week. VibeHere presents all artist, venue, genre information in an organized fashion and makes this decision quite easy!
Voice From The Past
Voice From The Past is a telephone-based time capsule that lets you leave voicemail messages to be delivered far into the future. Callers are asked to enter the target phone number (their own or someone else’s), the date they’d like their message delivered, and whether their message can be made public. Public messages will be posted to a website for listening by anyone who visits. Both public and private messages will be stored in a database to be delivered on the date specified.

CubeQuest
CubeQuest is a small cube puzzle that uses clues embedded in QR codes on each of its six sides to unluck a secret surprise inside. The user interacts with the object by taking a picture of one of its sides with their cell phone\’s QR code reader. This will direct them to a URL with that contains a short video clue (most likely via youtube)which will give them information about the object inside they are to retrieve and how to go about doing it. Taking a picture of subsequent sides of the cube reveals further information until finally, when the user has successfully decoded all of the cube\’s faces, they are provided a code to \”unlock\” the cube (most likely by way of a combination lock). Inside will be a special and very secret surprise

HereToday
While many applications try to reach the broadest audience, with this project I hope to highlight the importance of quality, curated, relevant information over what has become a sea of mediocre facts. Each app in this series allows users to contribute and edit information, connect with others, and get straight to what they are looking for without painstakingly searching.
Teletales
Teletales is based on the idea that preserving stories is important, and should be easy, too. Almost everyone has a phone, and can use it to connect with friends or loved ones across distances. So, let the story sharing/saving begin! Users call in to Teletales (an asterisk-based phone system) and enter the number of the person with whom they would like to share a story. Teletales connects them and then records their call. Users can then log in to Teletales online to download and edit their audio recording to keep forever. They can also choose to share their story with other Teletales users. It is my hope that Teletales encourages us to call our loved ones more and have meaningful, thoughtful or just plain fun conversations while creating an artifact not simply of stories but of people we care about.
