Adjunct Leads Guardian Project
ITP Adjunct, Nathan Freitas leads the Guardian Project, an open-source mobile security for activist project. They’ve been getting some good coverage of our work on “secure smart cameras” and our specific app called ObscuraCam, including this great piece in the Economist:

The team working on this from the Guardian Project and WITNESS involves many ITP folks: Shawn Van Every, Bryan Nunez, Hans-Christoph Steiner, Harlo Holmes (MCC / ITP2800 student in 2010), and Nathan (not a grad, just an adjunct!). Most amazingly people are actually getting paid by grants to work on this, so hopefully it can be shown as viable career path for “what to do when you graduate ITP”.
