Room 50

Ralph Appelbaum Associates creates award-winning museum exhibitions, visitor
centers, and educational environments that explore natural history, physical sciences,
cultural, social, and corporate history, sports, brand heritage, and the fine arts. Founded
in 1978, the firm has created over 500 projects that are visited by over 50 million people
each year.

In response to the growing potential of media and interactivity to enhance cultural
attractions, in January of 2010, Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) launched RAA
Media (RAAM). RAAM draws upon its expertise in narrative design, interaction design,
software development, iterative prototyping, and oversight of on-site installations to
produce visitor experiences that realise media’s power and promise.

Our collaboration with the RAA design team and our clients has resulted in award-
winning productions and memorable environments such as the IBM centennial
exhibition, THINK, which premiered in New York in 2011, and Russia’s largest multi-
media museum, the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, which opened in Moscow in
November, 2012.

Join us for a conversation about our work and the future of exhibition design.
