The first “future of the infrastructure” scenario presentation since 2005 will take place in New York’s Greenwich Village, at the former “Bottom Line” theatre.

Presented by students at NYU’s famous Interactive Telecommunications Program, these are fascinating glimpses of the interrelated future of new media and the global economy; and then a thought-provoking, freeform discussion follows.

We’ll be talking about these five ways the world might evolve by 2016 (7 years from now):

* “Let Them Have Broadband:” Haves and have-nots in a world of discretionary information

* “Little Brother is Micromanaging You:” Data goes super-abundant

* “Migration of Privilege:” China and India eclipse the West

* “There Goes Everybody:” A couple of pandemics change the game

* “Barbarians at the Gates:” The end of intellectual property law as we know it
