ITP Alum exhibits at Grand Palais in Paris
Starting on Dec. 18th, ITP Alumnus Daniel C. Howe (http://mrl.nyu.edu/~dhowe/) and Bill Seaman (http://www.billseaman.com/) exhibit the Architecture of Association in ‘Dans la Nuit, des Images’ at the Grand Palais in Paris.
A large-scale generative installation modelling human associative processes across diverse media, the Architecture of Association (AoA) algorithmically generates and combines fragments of video, text, and sound in real-time via a cluster of networked computers and databases. While a smaller version of the AoA premiered in August at the Museum of Image and Sound in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the installation at the Grand Palais will be the first full-size installation, spanning over 150 sq feet of high-definition monitors.
On the French Culture and Communication Ministry´s initiative, and during the European Season and the French European presidency, ‘Dans la Nuit, des Images’, guided by Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains, will be a celebration dedicated to visual arts…
