Re:       ITP’s Shanghai Program Will Begin in 2013 instead of 2012

Thank you all for your encouragement and enthusiasm about our plan to expand ITP into Shanghai.  The outpouring of interest and support has gratified me, and Marianne Petit.  We now have an important update to share with you all.

New York University has asked us to wait a year before opening ITP’s Shanghai Program as they coordinate the other graduate programs for Shanghai and across the Global Network University.

We are a little saddened by this deferral because there was such an excited reaction to the initial approval of the idea.  The logistics of creating an ITP in Shanghai was proving challenging but really interesting and we had progressed very far.  But the truth is that we were working on a very short schedule to iron out all the inevitable surprises of setting up shop in such a different place.  Now we will have a little more time to react to all those surprises and be more sure of delivering the full quality experience to the inaugural class.

We are very sorry if this change disrupts your planning.

Thank you.
