NYSE Euronext, will be hosting a recruitment event for these PAID internships at ITP on Monday, March 31 at 1pm. If interested, you should send your resume to the contact below. The event is open to all, in case you want to hear what they are all about first before applying. They are looking to make final decisions about new hires by the end of this month.

We would again like to recruit two summer interns from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. It is our goal to retain these interns on a part-time basis through the Fall ’08 and Spring ’09 semesters, so we prefer candidates who are interested in an extended relationship with our team. These are paid positions.

Here is the job description:

The Exchange is looking for two interns to fill summer positions in the Interactive Communications area. The candidates will have dual responsibilities: helping maintain the ongoing production and real-time publishing of nyse.com, and helping manage future web development projects.

We are keenly interested in candidates who would desire to continue working with our team on a part-time basis through the Fall ’08 and Spring ’09 semesters.

Production responsibilities:
Candidates will learn our Fatwire content management system and will be responsible for basic updating and maintaining of nyse.com. Duties will include maintaining the database of listed companies, maintenance of the online events calendar, creation and sizing of images and logos, updating and creating Flash content, and publishing changes to general web pages.

Knowledge of HTML, Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash (primarily animation) and Acrobat is required. Candidate should have a working knowledge of CSS and search engines. Familiarity with Illustrator, JavaScript, ActionScript, Lotus Notes and content management systems is helpful.

Knowledge of software titles such as InDesign, Premiere and After Effects is a plus. Interest in and/or desire to learn web metrics is also a plus.

Candidates should possess a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), the ability to interface with internal and external customers and should have the ability and desire to learn new software.

Development responsibilities:

Candidate will help manage production of web-based projects and must be able to understand business and technology requirements, document them accurately, build prototypes/mockups and help ensure they are developed to specifications. If the intern develops new content/functionality for the site, he/she will need to create process documentation so anyone can maintain what has been built.

Candidate should have business experience and the following skills:
understanding of information architecture, attention to detail (very strong), listening skills, excellent writing skills and the ability to interface with team members (including technology developers, business process owners, creative team members and vendors).
