Special Event: Changing the Game
|October 20, 2008|
|12:30 pm||to||1:30 pm|
Suzanne Seggerman, class of ’97, will be giving a talk “Changing the Game” about the power of video games to change the world – for the better. Suzanne is the President and Co-founder of Games for Change (G4C), a non-profit and new movement for people and organizations interesting in using and making games about pressing social issues – from race to the environment, from global conflict to global hunger. The annual G4C Festival is the largest game event in NYC, and this past June featured the Honorable Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, talking about her new game project “Our Courts,” which she is making in collaboration with renowned game scholar James Paul Gee, with funding from the MacArthur Foundation. Come here about the newest research in the emerging field, and see some of these new games.
