The Inner Fabric of New York City
Over the last two decades, many museums have put their energies into object driven exhibit design. The presented thesis project attempts to push boundaries, providing an object as personal guide, which leads through and becomes a part of an exhibit.
As pieces of clothing, until recently, were often passed on between sibling, from father to son, between cousins, neighbors or strangers, these passed along articles have become witnesses to times, events and people. It is these pieces of clothing that will guide the visitor through the exhibit, giving him or her a personalized experience as they venture through time.
A 3D flythrough shows the full floor plan of the proposed exhibit, while three build out elements, give examples of the proposed interaction.

SHELLHOUSE – [ living portable ]
how we become citizens, where we can be located, where we receive our mail, where our family and friends can contact us.
A house is where we validate this existence,
a shelter that gives us protection, our intimate space.
Are DIY communities able to make something for someone else?
Inhabitable collapsible structure made of cardboard becomes a shelter able to provide an address to a defined group of unsheltered homeless persons, by means of radio devices, proposing a way to integrate them to society.
How to make visible this layer of the population by using technology?
Snails and turtles don\’t need of an external construction, they live portable.
Their shell is their shelter.
Ovü
This method of tracking fertility allows a dataset to be gathered of the woman\’s cycle (which can be quite allusive at times.) This dataset, collected using actual sensors, allows women the tools to have more control over their bodies.
There is no need to think and worry about babies all day long. Women go about their life as the temperature is tracked and uploaded to their online database.
Modulotron
I\’m creating a modular system that will bring sensor and wireless technologies to a wearable device allowing the performer freedom of movement.
The Modulotron system is a potentially useful tool for capturing body movement and make use of them in a digital environment to influence, change, modify certain desired aspects of visual imagery. It is intended for use in addition to the computer and any other equipment performers would need. The fabric used is merely a support for the array of sensors, which allows wearability and portability. The array of sensors is selected on their functionality and usability. Their placement on the body is in function to body movement and where they will be the least obtrusive yet work effectively and optimally. Amongst many, my goal is to make it as easy to use as possible, as plug & play as possible.
I envision the use of the Modul-O-Tron system as either in a live or informal setting. But of course, as it is designed to bring importance and value to body movement in the musical environment, it should be used in such a way that the interactivity between movement and output is clear.

The two current explorations revolve around organization and security of the backpack. One exploration is a series of pouches inserted into the existing backpack. The pouches are wireless connected and controlled by a master panel. The panel is a way for the student to indicate the pouch (desire) they want or to be notified if a pouch is not closed properly (secure).
The second exploration is the in combination of fashion and mobility through the constraint of weight distribution. The frame of an existing backpack is used and modular components are attached and detached as the user desires. This provides flexibility in weight distribution and aesthetics.

Urban Female Armor
The key gesture in Urban Female Armor is a fist-making and covering-up. What these gestures manifest are an expression of a very particular emotion and an action taken accordingly. This wearable provides a protective shell to the wearer in which she can safely feel her emotions and assuredly have them be seen by the others.
