Paris, the capital of the 19th century

I like this article very much. It is written not only in the view of architecture, but also analyzed Paris’ society, history, etc, like a dictionary or database. Readers can find what they want through the subtitles and short descriptions.
In this article, the glory of pairs is represented in various spaces. Arcades is the most impressive one. I can imagine that the arcades in 19th century for Pairs were the same important as subways for New York now. The arcades in Paris tell us so many things about the rich history of Pairs.
Though I have no chance to see Paris in 19th century, I still like the balconies in Paris at present. I think they are heritage of ancient Paris and represent the “utopia” idea.
