Access To Samples

Alice began this process by contacting a vendor. Below is a sample letter.

Greetings,

My name is Alice Tseng-Planas and I am currently a graduate researcher at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program. I found out about your Sunflower Remediation Paper from visiting the Materials Connection Library in New York.

I am currently researching new materials and products to be included in a resource publication for our department, introducing sustainable materials to our student body. We are a graduate program of 220 students who engage in prototyping new interfaces and products within the world of emerging technology. I am interested in learning more about the Sunflower Remediation Paper and it's application potentials. For example, does the fact that the fibers come from plants which are used for absorbing toxic waste pose any potential for heavy metal exposure through contact?

Also I'd be interested in receiving a sample kit with all of your various products and materials, along with their spec sheets. It would be ideal to include samples within this resource collection.

Preston and Alice researched alternative materials through the Materials Connection database. One of the ideas that came fromthe researh was the need for a samples kit for students to gain exposure. With materials, photos are not enough to inspire desire for use.
