 Final Project

In-class presentations in Weeks 13 and 14 (4/23 and 4/30/08).

You are free to define the purpose and form of the final project. You are encouraged to build on the midterm, or energy analysis projects and the technical requirements remain the same as for the midterm (self-powered, no battery chargers, etc). Your final project is subject to the following additional constraints:

1. Your project will explicitly address "The Virtue of Waste" and "The Paradox of Efficiency" as raised by Huber and Mills.

2. You will create and deliver two separate presentations. The first, presented in week 13, will be a detailed technical presentation with notes on implementation (hardware, software) and specific energy related measurements. Your audience is your classmates and you can assume a level of familiarity with energy related concepts appropriate to the class. Your demo for this presentation can be somewhat hands-on/interactive with the class.

The second presentation, delivered on week 14, is intended for a generalized non-technical audience. You should assume no prior knowledge of your work. The demo for this presentation should be as if you are pitching your project to angel investors - it works the first time or forget it. No loose wires or exposed breadboards.

4. You may work in groups of up to 3 people.
